Meet the face of online retailer Pulse Fashion, YouTube star Katie Legate. She has more than 100,000 subscribers and was hired by pulsefashion.com to be a digital marketing specialist.
"I just so happened to be scrolling through job postings one day and I thought this is perfect for me. I've been doing videos on beauty and fashion for past 9 years," Katie said.
Pulsefashion.com, known for trendy and affordable clothing, is based in Chesterfield and has a large social media following of its own; 140,000 Facebook fans and counting.
"If you're not online doing social media, digital media, you won't be around long," said CEO Todd Weinhouse.
Believe it or not, Todd is also the guy who picks out all the clothes.
"My mother blessed me with a good eye," he said.
Todd and his mother owned brick and mortar boutique in Chesterfield for 9 years called Pulse.
'It was a higher end boutique," he said.
Nut in 2015, he realized not a lot of women were willing to pay those kinda of prices for clothes.
"Not $150 pair of jeans, $200 shirt," he said.
They closed the shop, focused on their website as well as social media presence, and haven't looked back.
"Not even a second," he said.
Business has never been better.
"We can do in a week what we did in a month," he said.
Pulse Fashion moved into a warehouse in Chesterfield, where they pack and ship clothes around the country.
It's also where Katie does all the videos for Pulse Fashion's social media.
"Cameras are always rolling here at Pulse Fashion," she said.
For Pulse Fashion, this is just the beginning.
"Skies the limit, I see it as a multimillion dollar business. We want to be a really large company," Todd said.
