ST. LOUIS -- The Super Blue Blood Moon lunar eclipse has come and gone.

Even though it was just a partial eclipse for Houston, it was still an awesome sight on a cloudless morning. Other parts of the country got a view of the full eclipse, which you can see in the photos and video below.

The blue moon refers to the second full moon in a single calendar month, reports USA TODAY. The supermoon is when a full moon is at its closest point in orbit to Earth.

The eclipse lasted about 3.5 hours, beginning at 5:48 a.m. Houston time..

This is the first such lunar trifecta visible from the U.S. since 1866.
