Exactly how 'normal' is Miss Indiana's body?

The sentiment was mostly praise for her "normal" look.

Diehl is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and wears a size 4, she tells The Indianapolis Star. (The average American woman wears a size 12, according to a 2009 survey by Women's Wear Daily.)

Diehl put her body mass index at 18. (The average American woman's BMI is 33, according to a 2012 report from the Centers for Disease Control.)

As for being called normal, Diehl tells the Star:

"Well, I'm OK with 'normal.' Whatever defines 'normal.' I guess it's better than being weird."
