Michelle Obama meets toddler of viral fame

Curry's mother, Jessica, says Obama's team reached out to her family to set up a meeting not long after the photo came to their attention.

A local toddler got the chance to meet former First Lady Michelle Obama Tuesday morning.

The special encounter comes just a few days after a photo of 2-year-old Parker Curry skyrocketed to viral fame. A man named Ben Hines previously snapped a photo of Curry as she stared at Mrs. Obama's likeness at the National Portrait Gallery.

Curry's mother, Jessica, says Obama's team reached out to her family to set up a meeting not long after the photo came to their attention.

"She is so laid back," Curry said. "So down to Earth, so warm. I honestly felt like the time we spent with her this morning was like spending time with an old friend."

Curry said she believes her daughter will remember the meeting for the rest of her life.

"To be in the same room as her was extremely humbling," she said.
