ARNOLD, Mo. – Police now know who they are looking for after a violent road rage incident was caught on camera last week.

The terrifying surveillance video shows a man tackling a woman to the ground in an Arnold drug store parking lot in what police believe is a case of road rage.

Police said Scott Heatherly is the man shown tackling a woman and kicking her car in a Walgreens parking lot Friday. The 50-year-old Arnold, Missouri, resident was charged with second-degree assault as well as first- and second-degree property damage. He has not been taken into custody.

Police said you should not approach Heatherly if you see him due to his "propensity for violence." Instead, call your local law enforcement department.

Daris Almond, Heatherly's attorney, said there is no timeframe for when his client will turn himself in to police.

Almond said the media has blown this out of proportion and says he feels his client's safety is at risk because people have been putting pressure on him and his family. Almond and Heatherly will be meeting to discuss how to surrender him in a manner that is safe so that the case can move forward.

A woman said a man driving a pick-up truck followed her from I-55 South to the parking lot, berating her for throwing something out of her window. She tells 5 On Your Side she did no such thing, and he targeted the wrong driver.

The video shows the man, who police have identified as Heatherly, kick her SUV several times. The woman gets out of her car with her phone in her hand.

“And I try to take a picture of his license plate for the damages he was doing to my car,” she said.

When he sees the phone, the man charges at the woman, throwing her to the ground and tossing her cell phone across the parking lot. Seconds later, the man gets back in his truck and nearly runs over the woman as he speeds away.

“I was scared to death. A stranger was violently attacking my car and then me, I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life,” she said.

The woman said she’s still so scared he’ll track her down, she asked us not to report her name, but she wants everyone to see the damage to her SUV and the injuries he caused.

“So he can be caught so he doesn’t do this to anybody else,” she said.

Officers say if other drivers are ever in a similar situation, they should call 911 and even drive straight to the police department just to be safe.

Heatherly's bond was set at $50,000.
