ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a field in south St. Louis Monday afternoon.
Police said the man was found in the grass near Lafayette Avenue and Interstate 55 Monday afternoon. Homicide detectives and an evidence team responded to the scene to investigate.
At this time, the case is being handled as a 'sudden death' pending an autopsy by the medical examiner's office, St. Louis police confirmed Tuesday morning.
