Registered sexual predator arrested for sexual assault of child

A man has been arrested in South Roxana, Ill., after complaints of a maintenance man having improper contact with children.

SOUTH ROXANA, Ill. - A man has been arrested in South Roxana, Ill., after complaints of a maintenance man having improper contact with children.

Richard Heatherly, of Wood River, Ill., was a registered sexual predator out on parole for a Child Porography offense when police took him into custody. He is now facing two counts of predatory sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated sexual abuse.

His bond was set at $1 million. If any parent has allowed their child to spend time with Heatherly, police strongly recommend they contact Detective Lee Brousseau at the South Roxana Police Department.
