Suspects in DeSmet football coach's murder plead not guilty

ST. LOUIS – Two of the three people facing charges for the shooting death of DeSmet assistant football coach Jaz Granderson pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday.

Jherrica Dixon, 23, and Kurt Wallace, 25, were indicted on 10 charges in connection with the carjacking that left Granderson dead and other carjackings. On Wednesday, they both pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The third person facing charges, Floyd Barber, has not been taken into custody.

If convicted, the charges carry a maximum penalty of death or life in prison.

This case is being investigated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in cooperation with the St.Louis Circuit Attorney's Office.
