DELHI, Illinois — Highway 67 is back open after multiple fire crews worked together to put out a large apartment building fire in Jersey County just after 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The fire is located in the 16900 block of US 67 in Delhi, Illinois.
Officials said the apartment complex is called the "New Delhi Apartments” owned by J.P.J. Real Estate Inc.
Brighton Fire Department said Highway 67 was shutdown for hours and informed people to use 109 until further notice.
According to the Jersey County Sheriff's Department, they have no head count on occupants and no injuries reported at this time.
The cause of the fire is unknown but reports said a neighbor heard a small boom and the flames were huge.
Many residents are waiting across the street and told 5 On Your Side there will be a fundraiser, likely spearheaded by Whiskey Creek, a bar across the street from the apartment complex.
