MADISON CO., Ill. - A fourth person has died after last week’s Madison County crash.

Tori Carroll, a 20-year-old woman from Alhambra, Ill., was pronounced dead at 1:37 p.m. Thursday. She had been in the front passenger seat of a 2010 Kia during the Nov. 21 crash. Two other people in the car, Hailey Bertels, 20, of Staunton, Ill., and her 17-year-old sister Madisen Bertels, were killed in the crash near Hamel.

Their Kia was the first of six vehicles that were rear-ended by a semi truck.

On Nov. 23, Vivian Vu, a sophomore at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, died from her injuries.

The eight-vehicle crash shut down the highway for several hours. At least 10 other people were injured in the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
