5 boys hit by car after driver suffers medical event

The boys' ages ranged from 9 to 13. One was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Police said he was in unstable condition. The other four boys suffered minor injuries.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – One boy was critically injured and four others suffered minor injuries when they were struck by a car after the driver suffered a medical event.

According to a press release from the St. Louis County Police Department, a 57-year-old woman was driving near the intersection of North Hanley Road and Nola Avenue when police believe she suffered a medical event. Her car jumped the curb and struck the five children who were walking in a grassy area along the roadway.

The boys' ages ranged from 9 to 13. One was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Police said he was in unstable condition. The other four boys suffered minor injuries.

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
