Alton High School student killed in crash after leaving work

ALTON, Ill. – The Alton community is mourning the loss of a 17-year-old girl.

Trinity M. Buel was killed in a crash early Saturday morning. According to police, Buel had just left work at the Alton Steak ‘n Shake before the crash.

She was traveling in her Jeep Cherokee westbound on Homer Adams when she attempted to turn southbound on Buckmaster Lane and was struck by a Cadillac SRX.

Autopsy results revealed Buel died from blunt chest and abdominal trauma.

According to a Facebook event, a candlelight celebration of her life will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at Piasa Park.
