NEW HARTFORD, Mo. - Maggie Brown was driving along Highway O when she spotted an eagle who was unable to fly.

She rushed home and called a friend who just so happens to be a Missouri Conservation agent for help.

When Agent Kevin Eulinger and Maggie returned to the eagle it was gone. The next day, the eagle was spotted about a half a mile from where Maggie saw it.

The eagle was lethargic and unable to move when the Missouri Conservation agent rescued him.

It is being cared for at the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park. The bird has no obvious injuries and is resting. They hope the bird will be able to be released into the wild soon.

People can help fund the recovery process of the eagle by donating to the wildlife hospital at www.worldbirdsanctuary.org.
