CURRENT RIVER, Mo. — A black bear was found dead in the Current River south of Van Buren, Missouri, this weekend.
The bear was found dead Sunday on the lower Current River, not far from the Big Tree campground, a post on the Ozark National Scenic Riverways Facebook page said.
The post said a necropsy — which is an autopsy for animals — will be carried out to find the cause of death. The Missouri Department of Conservation said it is scheduled for Thursday in Columbia, Missouri.
