MARYLAND HEIGHTS Mo. – The St. Louis Blues have big plans for an empty plot of land in Maryland Heights. It's replacing Creve Coeur Lake Park as the site of a new practice facility.
As the team tried to finalize plans at a Maryland Heights city council meeting, 5 On Your Side’s Frank Cusumano learned where the ice facility will be on the grounds of Hollywood Casino. It's just before the roundabout as you enter the grounds.
The board voted unanimously Monday to approve a preliminary partnership and move forward. There will be one more vote before the plans are finalized, but there is no date set for that vote.
The casino saw the problems the Blues were having trying to build at Creve Coeur Lake Park and reached out to the team saying the land was available.
A spokesperson for the Blues said they hope to break ground in May.
