Car accident causes power outages in Wildwood

Traffic officials shut down portions of Old State Road as the scene was cleaned.

An early weekend morning car accident temporarily caused the loss of power in a west St. Louis County city.

Around 7:50 a.m. Saturday, a car struck a utility pole on Eagle Ridge near Old State Road in Wildwood, Mo., which caused the pole to snap in half.

The accident involuntarily left more than 200 people without power in the Wildwood area. Power was expected to be restored within the morning hours.

Traffic officials shut down portions of Old State Road as the scene was cleaned. No injuries were reported in the car accident.
