Desperate search to find missing O'Fallon, Mo. woman

Steiniger has a sleeve tattoo on both of her arms and a cat tattoo on her left hand.

O'FALLON, Mo. – A huge crowd spent the day out in the cold on Saturday, hoping to solve a missing persons case that's now dragged on for most of the month.

Kelly Steiniger, 39, was last seen on Dec. 7 at a Quik Trip in O'Fallon, Mo. This weekend, more than 30 people searched for her.

"We all want her home," said Rochelle Chatham, a close friend to Steiniger. “We just have to try are best to find her and that's all we can do."

There were family, friends and even strangers looking and passing out flyers with information of Steiniger on it. The group split up, passing out more than 1,000 flyers in Wentzville, Lake St. Louis, O'Fallon and other surrounding areas.

"Hopefully, get something because there's been nothing thus far,” Chatham said.

Rochelle Chatham has known Steiniger for years. She says Steiniger's 10-year-old son is missing his mom, worried about where she is.

"She's a great mom and a great friend," Chatham said.

Friends said the suspense of the past several weeks has been tough.

"Every day gets harder because the unknown is killing everyone," Chatham said.

Those close to Steiniger are still without leads on a location. People out searching say any sign would help them cope with the struggle.

“We can't give up until we know one way or the other,” Chatham said. “I hate to say the word closure but we need to know something. You just can't give up on a human.”

Until that sign is found or hope is restored- the group says they won't give up.

“We just want to keep trying,” said Lauren Murray, a friend of Steiniger. “We will do anything we can to bring her back.”

Steiniger is described as a white female with black hair. She is 5'3 and weighs 115 pounds. Steiniger has a sleeve tattoo on both of her arms and a cat tattoo on her left hand.

Anyone with information is asked to call the O'Fallon Police Department.
