Evidence found during search for missing Alton woman

The search has become a crime scene.

MADISON, Ill.- The Madison County Sheriff's Department is examining evidence found during the search for a missing Alton woman near Horseshoe Lake.

People who gathered Saturday morning to help search for Adria Jean Hatten were asked to leave the area because it had become a crime scene.

During the search, friends found a prescription bottle with her name on it and some clothes that appeared to have belonged to her.

Hatten's husband, child, aunt, uncle and cousin were some of the 20 people who searched.

Rashelle Laraby is Hatten’s cousin, she said she still feels uneasy about the situation, and the family is asking for any assistance they can to help find her.

“I set up this search party in order to get extra eyes out here to maybe see if we can find something that the police didn’t find. It’s not like her to leave for this long without talking with her family, her children, her husband, her grandma, anybody. I know somebody knows something,” Laraby said.

The group met off of Big Bend Road at 10 a.m., where her car was found abandoned.
