Apollo 11 captivated the world. Now, 50 years later, we've dug up classic archive footage of what St. Louisans thought of the historic mission in 1969.

50 years ago, the Apollo 11 mission to the moon captivated the world.

Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin's historic trip was one of the most groundbreaking scientific achievements ever accomplished.

Back in St. Louis in 1969, all thoughts were on the astronauts as well.

We dug back into our archives to find footage from during the mission, and found some gems.
