Hand found in Ferguson yard

According to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner, DNA testing and other tests are underway.

ST. LOUIS – A hand was found in a yard in Ferguson on Thursday and police are investigating to see if it is connected to other crimes in the area.

According to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner, DNA testing and other tests are underway.

It was a chilling discovery for everyone who lives in this neighborhood, especially Malcolm Houston. He just moved here with his 10-month-old son.

"It's a little disturbing a little upsetting at the same time,” he said.

He's heard of shootings in the area, but not on his street.

And he's definitely never heard of a body part being found.

"Never thought on any given day that there would be a hand in someone's yard,” he said.

Amos Morgan lived in this area for about 40 years.

He feels the same as Houston, this is something he's never heard of before.

"This has been a pretty safe neighborhood as long as I've been here," he said.

St. Louis County police said they are looking into possibilities the hand found is related to a homicide that happened in Berkeley and a shooting that took place at the Ambassador Event Center late last year.

No other details have been released. This story will be updated as we receive more information.
