EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KSDK)—A home in East. St. Louis was destroyed by an early morning fire.
It’s located on the corner of 16th and Lawrence.
Michael Owens said his parents built the home in 1988. He said it was their dream house.
“It broke my heart to see this. Of course, I’m devastated by this,” said Owens.
His parents lived in the home for 29 years. When his mother died on July 13th of the last year, his father moved to Texas. Owens said his family was just about the put the home on the market but now it’s a total loss.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
