ST. PETERS, Mo. — A group of youngsters in St. Charles County is voluntarily giving up their free time this summer to help the needy, and they could use your help moving forward.

Kids Against Hunger, a nationwide non-profit, has a branch in St. Peters dedicated toward assembling, packing and shipping meals for children who are malnourished in Haiti. Combined with the nationwide effort, Kids Against Hunger has successfully thousands of meals for shipments over several years of charity work.

Saturday, the St. Peters branch plans to assemble 50,000 meals for kids in need. Due to the sheer number, the branch is looking for 200 volunteers to help form an assembly line and then pack small plastic bags of food.

Those interested in volunteering can choose to work two shifts. The ‘bagging’ event is happening this Saturday, July 21 at www.ShopMidRiversMall.com in St. Peters and there will two shifts for volunteers: 9 am to 11 am and 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Click here to register.
