Mayor Lyda Krewson is offering the largest airline in the United States a new home after threats from Georgia Republicans responding to the end of the airline's relationship with the National Rifle Association.

USA Today reported Delta Air Lines decided at its annual meeting to end the contract to reflect its neutral position in the national debate over gun control and notified the NRA on Saturday. The decision came after the shooting rampage Feb. 14 at a Florida high school that left 17 people dead.

Now, Georgia conservatives are threatening to fight a tax break that would have provided the airline a benefit of about $40 million, according to USA Today.
