KSDK statement regarding Tower Tee lease

All net proceeds from the sale will be donated to the TEGNA Foundation, a corporate foundation sponsored by TEGNA Inc. which supports nonprofit activities in the 38 markets where TEGNA operates, including St. Louis.

Earlier this year KSDK met with the owner of Tower Tee to discuss the future of the 27-acre property, including the current lease, which was set to expire at the end of October 2017. The property is owned by KSDK’s parent company, TEGNA.

After careful consideration and discussion with Tower Tee, TEGNA decided to divest the property and it was placed on the market. All net proceeds from the sale will be donated to the TEGNA Foundation, a corporate foundation sponsored by TEGNA Inc. which supports nonprofit activities in the 38 markets where TEGNA operates, including St. Louis.

KSDK and Tower Tee mutually agreed to go month-to-month on the property lease when it expired on October 31, with a mutual 60-day notice of termination.

Wednesday, KSDK General Manager Alicia Elsner met with Tower Tee to let them know that TEGNA is now exercising the 60-day termination. As a result, the lease will conclude in early January 2018.
