HAZELWOOD, Mo. – Investigators have activated the Major Case Squad after the car a missing teen was trying to sell on Craigslist was found in Hazelwood Tuesday evening.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Taylor S. Clark's family reported him missing around 8 p.m. Monday. He was last seen around 10:30 a.m. by his girlfriend at a business in the 4000 block of Route 159 in Glen Carbon after he took a final exam at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.

Clark's family says his vehicle, a red 2007 Nissan, is listed for sale on Craigslist, and said he spoke with at least one interested buyer Monday morning about it. Clark's cell phone records place his phone in the area of The Mills Outlet Mall in Hazelwood, Missouri shortly after 11:30 a.m., but deputies can't say if he was there to meet anyone about his car.

Clark's vehicle was found around 6 p.m. at an office park not far from where his cell phone was last pinged. More than 20 Major Case Squad investigators are now working the case. No other details have been released, but police say they will gather the media when more information becomes available.

Deputies say Clark does not have a history of disappearing or any known medical conditions that could lead to his disappearance.

Clark is described as a white male standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. He has light brown shorter hair and a full facial mustache and beard.

Anyone who believes they may have seen Clark, or may have information about his disappearance is asked to call the Madison County Sheriff's Office at 618-692-4433, the investigation line at 618-692-0871, or the anonymous tip line at 618-296-3000.
