Man dies after being shot, getting into car accident in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — A man died after being shot and getting into an accident in north St. Louis late Wednesday night.

Just after 11 p.m., police were called to the 5900 block of Julian Avenue for a call for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a car engulfed in flames.

Police found a man dead in the car, suffering from gunshot wounds and extensive burns to his body. He was identified as 18-year-old Dangelo Baker of St. Louis.

An investigation revealed the man and a 16-year-old girl were in the car when shots were fired into it. The man was involved in a crash and the car caught fire.

The 16-year-old was able to get out of the car before it caught fire and was not injured.
