One man was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm after a road rage incident near the intersection of Hanley Road and Interstate 64 Tuesday afternoon.

The Richmond Heights Police Department said the incident happened at around 1 p.m. between two drivers. Police said the driver of a van and the driver of a passenger vehicle got into an argument while waiting for the light to change at the Hanley-I-64 interchange.

The driver of the passenger car cut off the van and stopped on the North Outer Road between Hanley and the I-170 ramp, got out of his car and fired multiple shots at the van.

The van driver was hit once in the arm. The shooter fled the scene westbound on the North Outer Road.

The van driver was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
