The water system for the City of O'Fallon, Illinois, shut down at 5 p.m. Sunday for emergency repairs to a water main in the area of Highway 50 and Mark Drive.

Though the water main has been repaired, the O'Fallon school district said classes on Monday have been canceled and the entire city is under a boil order. An email from the city said the boil order is expected to continue until at least Wednesday evening.

Anyone in O'Fallon should bring water to a rolling boil before using the water to drink, prepare food, beverages or ice cube, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth.
