One person is dead after a single-car crash in Lebanon, Illinois, Sunday afternoon.
The Illinois State Police said they were contacted about the crash at around 4:30 and began investigating. They said the crash happened on Illinois Route 4 near the intersection of Widicus Road.
They said a car with just the driver inside left the road and ended up in the wooded creek area. The person in the car was killed, but they are waiting to release the name age and gender until family members can be notified.
They do not know why the car left the roadway, but weather was not a factor.
The road was closed for a short time but has since reopened.
