ST. LOUIS – A man was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a north St. Louis motel room, according to police.
Officers responded to the First Western Inn on north Broadway around 8:30 a.m. where they were in the process of a search warrant. As they approached a motel room, a single gunshot was fired. Officers backed off and called SWAT in.
During a press conference around 10:45 a.m., police said the man’s girlfriend along with a child were in the room when he fired a gunshot. They were able to get out of the room uninjured.
The man is a 27-year-old from the St. Louis area, but has not been identified. Police said he was found in the bathtub of the motel room.
