Shooting survivor sharing her story to try to help others

She opened up about her story in an attempt to help other women who know the story all too well.

LADUE, Mo. - In March, Kat Hutson had just arrived for her early morning shift at Schnucks in Ladue when the man she'd moved to St. Louis to escape found her in the parking lot and grabbed her at gunpoint.

"I tried reverse psychology "No, don't do that. I love you we can make things work,'" she said.

As she tried to crawl away on the ground, her husband shot her nine times.

The Schnucks camera shows Kat with a coworker just after she was shot and what she was sure would be her last breaths.

"I was just so mad," she said. "I wasn't scared I was mad. Make sure they know this was Michael Hutson, my husband. And make sure he goes to prison because I'm going to die."

But she survived and woke up to learn that Michael had shot and killed himself before police could catch him.
