FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – A snake fell from an Arkansas woman’s dashboard onto her feet as she was driving on Interstate 49 Thursday.
"As soon as it landed on my feet, I felt it," said Kelly Swisher. "It was rough and scaly. As it slithered across my feet, it was the nails-on-a-chalk-board kind of thing."
Swisher said she could not remember what happened after the four-foot-long rat snake fell onto her legs.
"I do not know if I had my hands on the steering wheel or not," Swisher said. “I am not the most flexible person in the world, but I can guarantee my knees were up next to my ears."
She said that before she could attempt to remove the snake, it slithered back into her dashboard. She hoped that it would stay there until she could get off the interstate, but it made its way to her back seat.
Eventually, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office alerted animal control and the snake was caught.
Swisher said that she is glad the situation was resolved safely, and she will now be watching her feet more closely.
