Texas church shooting hits home for local pastors

St. Louis area pastors say they're taking precautions and watching who enters their church even when preaching at the pulpit.

ST. LOUIS - The shooting at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs that killed at least 26 people hits home for some local pastors. They say they're taking precautions and watching who enters their church even when preaching at the pulpit.

Greater St. Mark Family Church, located just outside of Ferguson, has at least 400 members. The pastor, Tommy Pierson, says he's willing to stop his own sermon if he suspects someone is about to do something harmful to anyone in the congregation.

The church also has surveillance cameras, and extra security when necessary.

Pastor B.T. Rice of New Horizon 7th Day Christian Church says he will speak with his deacons about ways to keep their church members safe. New Horizon 7th Day Christian Church also has surveillance cameras.
