LAS VEGAS — Ben Affleck is officially stepping behind the camera, Batman-style.

Affleck will direct an upcoming solo Batman film, Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed Tuesday during the studio's presentation at CinemaCon.

Tsujihara unveiled the news at the convention of theater owners after reaffirming that Warner Bros.' DC Comics slate would include "at least 10 movies through 2020." This includes James Wan directing Aquaman and Affleck handling the "standalone" Batman project.

No further elaboration on the project was given and it's not clear where in the timeline the solo Batman would fit in.

Affleck did not mention the directing opportunity when he stepped onto the CinemaCon stage with Amy Adams to give scripted thanks to theater exhibitors for the box-office success of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Affleck's first outing as Batman alongside Henry Cavill as Superman has made nearly $800 million in worldwide box office, despite a thrashing by critics.

Adams and Affleck introduced a reel of DC Comic film moments, which ended with Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder on the London set of The Justice League, surrounded by a phalanx of superheroes.

"It's been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of this universe and we're looking forward to joining the Justice League," Affleck said.

The session was highlighted by director David Ayer bringing out the cast of Suicide Squad (in theaters Aug. 5), including Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Will Smith and Jared Leto. Smith was entirely pumped up to show off the Suicide Squad clip, repeatedly yelling "Yeah!" from the stage.

"We’re going to fill those theaters real thick and people are going to buy a lot of stuff," Smith told the exhibitors.

Ayer compared watching the anti-heroic Suicide Squad team to "spending a couple of hours with the coolest kids in the school."

Smith led the cheering as the group exited the stage, chanting "Suicide Squad!"
