The NASCAR Sprint Cup race scheduled for Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway is in a weather delay. Heavy rains soaked the 1.5-mile speedway in the late afternoon, dousing fans as they listened to a pre-race concert.

Drivers were lined up on pit road for TV interviews when Fox came on the air, but the engines did not fire at 7:46 p.m. ET as planned.

Air titan track dryers had been working off and on since the rains began.

This is the series' first visit to Fort Worth and the seventh race of the season. Carl Edwards is on the pole.

NASCAR's 2015 season was plagued by weather delays.
