Popovich won't rest Spurs starters at home vs. Golden State Warriors

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has made a habit of resting his players as the regular season winds down. That won’t be the case Sunday, however, when the Spurs host the Golden State Warriors with several records on the line.

There was a possibility that Popovich would rest his starters vs. the Warriors simply to save their legs ahead of the postseason. It also would’ve prohibited the Warriors from getting any more game footage ahead of a potential Western Conference Finals matchup. But Popovich revealed the news ahead of Thursday’s Warriors-Spurs clash at Oracle Arena.

The Spurs have started the season an NBA-record 39-0 at home and appear intent on trying to maintain that streak. The Warriors, of course, are still gunning for the all-time regular season wins record of 73 and can’t afford another loss.
