Rockin' Father's Day gifts for the sports fan

As Father's Day fast approaches, it's time to reconsider your gift choices. Ditch the ties (hardly anyone wears them anymore), forgo the homemade coupon book (you know he'll never redeem them anyway) and instead get Dad something unique.

Patrick Foster and Jim Lenahan, hosts of USA TODAY's Dad Rock podcast offer some ideas in a series of videos this week. (For two videos, they are joined by fellow father Casey Moore of USA TODAY Sports.)

Here are details about their picks in video No. 1: Sports gifts

Across the Board Baseball Game. Especially good for the dad who can't keep up with Junior and his videogames. This board game, crafted of wood and metal, is old-school. Roll the dice and move your pieces. $50, from Uncommon Goods.

Electronic Golf Club Kooler Caddie. When Dad goes out for a round, he can take a round with him. This fake golf club is connected to a jug that holds 54 ounces of liquid refreshment, with a battery-powered "tap." $59 at HomeWetBar.com.

Shoot Again Basketball. Dad can shoot hoops with the kiddos at home, and they won't even need to rebound for him! This over-the-door product shoots the ball back to the shooter after making a shot. $49 at FranklinSports.com.
