TV tonight: 'Bones,' 'Orphan Black'

Bones
Fox, 8 ET/PT

Does any show have fans more loyal or beleaguered than Bones? They've seldom known where the show will air next. They’ve endured a hiatus that began in mid-December — during which they learned the show will get a shortened final 12-episode run next season to wrap things up (apparently without creator Hart Hanson, who left this year.) And yet the seemingly unshakable core fan group will still most likely return for this spring premiere, if only to see how Hodgins (TJ Thyne) adjusts to his new — and possibly permanent — life in a wheelchair. There’s a mystery, too, but the focus is wisely on Hodgins, who has long been one of Bones’s most appealing characters.

American Grit
Fox, 9 ET/PT

NBC may be Strong, but Fox has Grit. Four teams compete in wilderness challenges, helped along by mentors drawn from the military.

Orphan Black/After the Black

BBC America, 10 ET/PT

No idea on TV goes unborrowed. AMC has successfully extended the ratings reach of The Walking Dead with Talking Dead, so now corporate cousin BBC America tries the same trick: The fourth season premiere of Orphan Black will be followed by the debut of After the Black — hosted by Ajay Fry, Morgan Hoffman and Teddy Wilson and boasting a debut visit by Orphan's Tatiana Maslany and Kevin Hanchard.
