WASHINGTON — Two more Mexican nationals have been extradited to the U.S. to face charges related to their alleged participation in a 2011 attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Mexico, resulting in the death of Jaime Zapata and the attempted murder of Victor Avila.

Jesus Ivan Quezada Pina, 28, and Alfredo Gaston Mendoza Hernandez, 33, both of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, were charged in a four-count indictment and both made their initial appearances Monday in a D.C. federal court.

Pina and Hernandez join four others who already have pleaded guilty in connection with the ambush engineered by the violent cartel group known as Los Zetas.

A fifth suspect, Jose Emanuel Garcia Sota, 35, is awaiting trial.
