Weekend TV: 'Catastrophe,' 'Fear the Walking Dead'

Catastrophe

Even those who don’t normally binge may find it hard to resist downing all six episodes at once of this wonderfully, addictively funny comedy. And at only three hours, it still leaves you time for the season finale of Sleepy Hollow (Fox, Friday, 8 ET/PT) and the season premiere of Outlander (Starz, Saturday, 9 ET/PT).

The Girlfriend Experience
Starz, Sunday, 8 ET/PT

The official broadcast TV season may be nearing its end, but these days, new shows know no season. So if you’re looking to start a new series habit, Starz offers this update on the 2009 Steven Soderbergh movie, starring Lisa Marie Presley's daughter Riley Keough as a law student and law-firm intern. You’d think that would be enough to keep her busy, but no: She's also a professional “girlfriend,” which is like a prostitute with emotional support thrown in.

Fear the Walking Dead
AMC, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

Never fear, Walking Dead fans: The original may have exited, but you still have Fear, which is sort of the same show, only with more annoying survivors. Having fled Los Angeles to a gated estate, they’re now off to sea in a boat owned by the mysterious Strand (Colman Domingo). We can say without fear of contradiction that the plan will not go well, if only because nothing in these shows ever does.
