Police seize largest fentanyl stash in Missouri history

During a vehicle search an officer found 4.8 pounds of pure fentanyl.

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. - Police seized over 4 pounds of fentanyl during a traffic stop on Interstate 55 over the weekend.

A Missouri Highway Patrol officer pulled over Angel Larar-Esteban, 27, of Phoenix, Arizona on Nov. 1 on in New Madrid County.

During a vehicle search an officer found 4.8 pounds of pure fentanyl. The street value is estimated to be more than $3 million.

Larar-Esteban was arrested for felony drug trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid painkiller.
