PONTOON BEACH, Ill. -- A Pontoon Beach police officer who was seriously injured in a head-on crash last month has returned home from the hospital.
The mayor of Pontoon Beach said in a Facebook post Saturday that although Officer Lee Brousseau has many surgeries ahead of him, for now he is resting at home. He also said support from the community has been "off the charts."
Since the accident, hundreds have pitched in to support Brousseau's recovery.
On Friday night, around $10,000 was raised at a dine out event and t-shirt sale.
