PHILADELPHIA St. Louis dropped its Atlantic 10 Conference opener at La Salle Saturday, falling 83-60 at Gola Arena.

The Billikens dip to 7-7 overall, while the Explorers improve to 7-7.

SLU freshman guard Jordan Goodwin led the Billikens with 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. It was the second double-double of his career, and the fourth straight game of scoring in double figures.

Goodwin was 6-of-17 from the field, 2-of-2 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 from the line. He also recorded two steals.

Junior guard Javon Bess scored 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor and 7-of-10 from the stripe. Junior forward D.J. Foreman's nine points were the most he has recorded this season since the second game of the year.

Saint Louis shot just 33.9 percent from the field, including a 27.3 percent mark in the first half as SLU trailed by 25 at the break.

SLU scored the first bucket of the game, but La Salle answered with an 8-0 run and the Explorers never looked back.

The Billikens remain on the road to face another A-10 foe, Davidson, on Wednesday. Game time in Davidson, North Carolina, is set for 6 p.m. (CT).
