The Cardinals and Giants seem to be the top contenders to gain the services of NL MVP slugger Giancarlo Stanton.
The two teams already have a heated rivalry on the field(see the 2012 and 2014 NLCS), and with this new competition, the fight has been taken to social media.
Tuesday night, Kolten Wong took to Instagram to make his pitch for Stanton and to compare himself to a Miami star with Hawaiian roots.

Earlier in the day, Giants outfielder Hunter Pence made a post of his own, comparing costumes.

But, as Dexter Fowler observantly pointed out in a tweet of his own, Stanton and Pence play the same position.
Ay man @hunterpence , not sure that’s good job security for you 🤪🧐#comeflexwithdex https://t.co/y4ZU8JTOlU

One report said a decision in the Stanton sweepstakes is expected in the next few days, but the whole process has been shrouded in secrecy.
