Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott denies girlfriend's domestic abuse allegation

Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, according to two police reports filed Friday morning in Ohio.

Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, according to two police reports filed Friday morning in Ohio.

Elliott has denied the accusation. He was not arrested and no charges have been filed.

Tiffany Thompson, who claims Elliott is her former live-in boyfriend, told police he assaulted her while was in the driver's seat of a parked car in the parking lot near a Columbus, OH business around 2:30 a.m. Friday. It was the latest in an alleged string of assaults from July 18-22, according to the report.

“[Thompson] stated that she had pain in her right wrist and a red mark, but declined medical treatment,” the report reads. Police took photos of her injuries at the scene.

In a 911 call obtained by News 8, Thompson said Elliott hit her "all over" and that he had been hitting her for five days.

The police report cites four witnesses, who each said they didn’t see an assault take place. One of the witnesses was in the passenger seat of the car at the time of the alleged assault. The three others were in the parking lot.

Elliott wasn't arrested due to conflicting accounts of the alleged incident, and the inability to prove Thompson's claim that she and Elliott lived together -- a claim Elliott denied.

According to a second police report filed Friday morning, “[Elliott] stated he never touched [Thompson] in a harmful manner and that the bruises...were from a bar fight she was in."

Thompson listed her occupation as "sex slave" in the second report.

A source within the Cowboys organization told WFAA Sports' Mike Leslie that Elliott has text messages saved on his phone that suggest Thompson was trying to frame Elliott.

She later Friday morning posted photos to her private Instagram account showing bruises and claiming she was the victim of domestic abuse.

One post was accompanied by a lengthy caption, which referenced multiple instances of abuse without directly accusing Elliott. A second post was captioned only with Elliott’s Instagram handle, according to screengrabs of her posts obtained by Deadspin.

The caption on her first post:

Just for every women out there getting abused it’s time to put a stop to it. This has been happening to me for months and it finally got out of control to where I was picked up and thrown across the room by my arms. Thrown into the walls. Being choked to where I have to grasp for breath. Bruised everywhere, mentally and physically abused. It’s not okay. So I want each and everyone of you girls to step away now from domestic violence. You’re worth so much more. I got told it was called “tough love” I’m sorry if you love someone you don’t touch your loved ones.

She then added the hashtag #StopDomesticViolence.

WFAA Sports reached out to the Cowboys, who said they "don't have a statement at this time." Attempts to reach Elliott have not been successful.

The Cowboys selected Elliott No. 4 overall in the NFL Draft in April. Friday is Elliott’s 21st birthday.
