Radio host Patrick Connor fired after inappropriate Chloe Kim remark

The firing came a day after the host of 'The Shower Hour with Patrick Connor' made an inappropriate comment about Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim.
Gold medalist Chloe Kim of the United States poses during the medal ceremony for the Snowboard Ladies' Halfpipe Final on day four of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games at Medal Plaza on February 13, 2018 in Pyeongchang-gun, South Korea.

Patrick Connor lost one of his hosting gigs in the wake of his crass comment about 17-year-old Chloe Kim, who won a gold medal in the women's halfpipe for Team USA on Tuesday.

Connor lost his morning show, The Shower Hour with Patrick Connor, on Bay Area sports talk station KNBR. The move was confirmed by a representative for the station’s parent company, Cumulus Media, to USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday.

No reason was given for his termination that came a day after Connor called Kim a “little hot piece of (expletive)” on his Barstool Sports show on SiriusXM.

Connor, however, remains employed by Barstool.

“Just quickly I want to apologize to Chloe Kim and her dad,” Connor said in a recorded statement on Barstool. “They didn’t deserve my stupid, foolish and immature comments.”

He also tweeted an apology: "Yesterday in a weird attempt to make people laugh I failed. My comments about @chloekimsnow were more than inappropriate they were lame & gross. Im truly sorry Chloe. You've repped our country so brilliantly. I apologize to my colleagues & the listeners for being a total idiot."

Dallas Braden, the co-host of the Dialed-In show on SiriusXM, scolded Connor and said Barstool understands the “severity and the seriousness of the comments made ... and that’s not who we are.”

Braden’s audio clip was placed on Barstool’s website right below an advertisement that included two women in their underwear.

A message left for SiriusXM by USA TODAY Sports was not immediately returned.
