CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - One of the best high school coaches in the area is leaving to take a job at the University of Illinois.
Trinity head coach Cory Patterson will join Love Smith’s staff at Illinois as a tight end coach.
Patterson had built Trinity into a local powerhouse, and reached the state title game in 2016.
