Diamond Palmer is a multi-skilled journalist at 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri.
She joined 5 On Your Side in August 2023. Previously, she worked for Spectrum Networks in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky, and filled in on their national shows.
Community is one of the most important aspects of the job for Diamond. She’s overjoyed to now be in the “Show Me” state and is ecstatic to call herself a Missourian. She is honored to tell the important stories of people in the Bi-state and looks forward to it every day she wakes up. She is dedicated to building valuable relationships in the St. Louis community and getting the facts right.
Diamond is a native of Champaign, Illinois, and holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, TV & Digital Media from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. While at SIUC, she worked for PBS affiliate WSIU-TV as an anchor, reporter and associate producer. She also spent time as an associate producer at the ABC affiliate WSIL.
During her time at Northwestern University, Diamond worked for Medill Reports, CAN-TV and the Medill Investigate Lab with the Washington Post to highlight the struggles of undocumented workers in Georgia.
Diamond is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the National Association of Black Journalists.
When she’s not on the clock, Diamond’s favorite thing to do is to try new local restaurants. She also enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends.
