Jennifer Somers is a digital desk producer at 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a digital producer, Jennifer urgently and aggressively covers breaking and developing stories, manages newsroom assignments and oversees the quality of 5 On Your Side digital content efforts across all platforms. Her favorite stories are ones focused on the real lives of St. Louisans.
Jennifer is a native of the St. Louis area, with roots in Jefferson, Franklin and St. Louis counties. She graduated with honors from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she worked at the Columbia Missourian and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
After graduation, Jennifer worked as a litigation specialist at a St. Louis law firm before joining WQAD-TV as a digital content producer in the Quad Cities.
In September 2022, she moved back home and joined 5 On Your Side. She's proud to be working behind the scenes in a newsroom full of faces she and her family grew up watching on TV.
When she's not working, you can find her exploring St. Louis' independent coffee and brunch spots.
