Mary Caltrider is the host of “Show Me St. Louis” in St. Louis, Missouri.
An award-winning journalist, Mary came to 5 On Your Side in July 2022 after working for WBND in South Bend, Indiana. During her time there, she wrote, edited, and reported feature pieces, including two new segments, “Michiana’s Menu” and “ABC57 Road Trip.” She also was selected as a feature reporter for the station’s Notre Dame football show.
The Carmel, Indiana native grew up with a microphone in her hand. She first got her start behind the camera at the age of 16 as the in-game host for the Indianapolis Indians, a Triple-A Minor League baseball team. She went on to study mass communication in the Honors College at Purdue University. During her time at Purdue, Mary worked as the in-game host for the men's basketball team as well as program director for the Purdue Old Master's Program.
Because of this, choosing a career in television was an easy decision. Mary has always had a passion for spreading the “good news.”

Mary is a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award winner for an 11-minute in-depth short film she produced, which documented the departure of Notre Dame’s head football coach.
